Mildred S. (Schneider) Aiken

Mildred S. Aiken, 89, of Crestwood, went to her heavenly home, on Tuesday, July 12, 2016.

She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, she went to work at the Gateway Store on Brownsboro Road for 3 days and retired 20 years later. She was always caring for others and took care of her mother for 25 years, she was a kind, loving, gentle soul and everyone who met her loved her. She loved country music, Farris wheels and Bingo.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, George E. Aiken and John A. Raley; and a sister, Isabel Simpson.

Mildred is survived by her daughter, Maryann Smyth (Ray); a sister, Lillian A. James; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass 11 AM Friday at St. Aloysius Catholic Chapel followed by burial in St. Michael Cemetery.  Visitation 4-7 PM Thursday at Stoess Funeral Home.

The family gives thanks to her long-time care giver, Charlene McKay and the Angels at Hosparus In-Patient Center.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Hosparus of Louisville or St. Aloysius.
