Carl Edward Riebel Jr., of Mt. Washington, Ky., passed away peacefully at his winter home in Palm Harbor, FL. He was born August 24, 1939 in Pewee Valley, Ky. He was a 1957 graduate of Oldham County High School. He received a BS in Civil Engineering and MBA from the University of Kentucky. He was selected for membership in Tau Beta Pi: (National Honorary Engineering Society) and Chi Epsilon (National Honorary Civil Engineering Society). He retired from the old Ruby Construction Co. and K/T Construction and was also a consultant for C&W Construction. He also developed Echo Valley farms subdivision in Oldham County. Carl was a lifelong member of 62 years of Crestwood Baptist Church and served in Ky National Guard. Carl was an avid University of Kentucky fan and hobbies were boating on the Ohio River, fishing, traveling, motorcycles and corvettes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Edward Riebel Sr. (Ed) and Elizabeth Pinnell Riebel (Lib).
He is survived with loving memories by his wife, Diana Portman Riebel; daughters, Melissa Dionne (John) and Brittany Heuke; and childhood brother, Dr. Gregory Brown. Carl cherished his grandchildren, Chaz (Trish) Jackson, Kaitlyn McHatton, Conner Monks, Jarrett and Sarah Heuke; and his beloved Beagle, Sadie.
Funeral service will be Friday 2pm, Stoess Funeral Home, Crestwood with burial to follow in Floydsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday 1:30 to 8PM and Friday 1pm until time of service at the funeral home.
