William Paul Nichter, Sr

William P. Nichter, 89, passed away December 23, 2023.  Born in Louisville, Kentucky on December 7, 1934.  He was the son of the late Charles E. Nichter and Florence Dolly Nichter.  

William was a United States Army Veteran and a retired employee of Dean Milk Company.  He was a member of The Church of the Ascension and The Swiss Charity Society.  He loved dancing, hunting and the outdoors.

Besides his parents he was proceeded in death by his wife of 64 years Loretta, son Gary W. "Buck"  Nichter, and a grandson, William Russell (Rusty) Elder:  siblings, Deloris Heiser, Marilyn Hines, Florence Miller, Emma Miller, and Mary Lou Spears.

Survivors include his children, Debbie Elder (Gary), Paul Nichter (Linda), and Brenda Nichter: daughter-in-law, Beth Elzy;  Siblings, Charles Nichter, Joe Nichter, Elmer Nichter, David Nichter, Carol Johnson, and Charlene Tully;  Grandchildren, Terry Elder (Leslie), Heather Mullins (David), Melanie Mullins (Alex), Melissa Ward (Terry), Dana Williams (Marcus), Amber Haney (Johnny), and Katie Veech (Austin); Great Grandchildren, Tylar, Noah, Landon, Allie, Jacob, Bryce, Laynie, Gracie, Aubree, Oliver, and Lora.

The visitation will be Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 9:30 with a funeral mass to follow at 11:30 at The Church of the Ascension, 4600 Lynnbrook Drive, Louisville, Kentucky  40220.  Burial at Floydsburg Cemetery.
