Wayne G. Adams

Wayne G. Adams, 87, of Crestwood, KY passed away Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Wayne was born May 27, 1937, in Floyd County, KY, the son of the late Ortie and Dora Adams.  Wayne was devoted to his family and took an active part in their lives.  In December 1959, Wayne was drafted into the US Army where he served 2 1/2 years at Fort Knox, KY.  After leaving the army he worked for Kentucky State Government retiring after 50 years of service.  

Wayne was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

Those left to mourn his passing are his wife of almost 65 years, Gerry; his daughter, Celina "Cindy" (Steve) Cummings; one grandson, Adam (Beth) Cummings and two precious great grandchildren, Olivia Neil and John Wayne Cummings.  He is also survived by two sisters, Carolyn Sue (Paul) Williams, Lynda (Richard) Hill of Barnetts Creek, KY and his youngest brother, Rick Adams of Chapmanville, WV.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews whom he loved very much. 

His request was that there be no funeral and his body be cremated and returned to Highlands Memorial Park Cemetery in Johnson County for burial.  

A celebration of life for family and close friends will be planned for a later date.
