Walter Maurice Forbey, 86, passed away peacefully at his home in Pewee Valley surrounded by his family on September 14, 2021. The Camden, TN native was born to the late Claude and Bessie Forbey, March 17th, 1935.
Walt worked for Western Electric Telephone Company for 41 years. He retired as operations supervisor and CEO of sales. He started his professional career in 1953 in Paducah, KY making $1.11 an hour. His work life afforded him the opportunity to live in many places and to make lifelong friends that became like family along the way. Even though they often didn't live close anymore they stayed in contact up until even his last days.
Walt and Sarah loved U of L sports and went to many games at home and away as well as traveling throughout most of the 50 states and many countries internationally. There was nothing they enjoyed more than their yearly family vacations.
Walt and Sarah were high school sweethearts and were married for 67 years. They had three children together. Walt thought Sarah was the best wife and mother and he adored how well she took care of everyone in their life.
The thing he valued most was his family as well as his strong Christian beliefs. He has always been the "go to" person in his family. We will all miss that about him. He always had a positive attitude and a wonderful sense of humor.
