Virginia Patricia (Proctor) Solarz passed away on June 11, 2022 in La Grange, Kentucky. She was born on June 8, 1930 in East Liverpool, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Dr. Walter B. Solarz, her son, Christopher W. Solarz, her daughter, Cynthia L. Kemmesat, her grandson, Chad W. Vojdani, her father, Robert H. Proctor of Montreal, her mother, Rhoda E. (Ryan) Proctor of Section, Alabama, and eight siblings. She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Kimberly A. Solarz of Niceville, Florida, Heidi L. Solarz-Kutz (Anthony) of LaGrange, Kentucky, Jennifer S. Solarz Vojdani of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, her siblings William A. Proctor and Cynthia Proctor Bedell, nine grandchildren; Christopher Kemmesat (Renee), Patrick Kemmesat (Katie), Christopher Solarz II (Alia), Ryan Kelly Dugan (Yane), Leah Rahm (Edward), Michael Dugan (Lauren), Aaron Vojdani, Hannah Solarz, Riley Vojdani and fifteen great grandchildren.
Pat graduated from East Liverpool Nursing School, in 1952. She married Walter B. Solarz of Cleveland, Ohio in 1954. They lived in the Cleveland area, the Columbus area, and settled in Maumee, Ohio until they retired to Niceville, Florida in 1989. They were members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. During her career Pat was a nurse at the Cleveland Children’s Hospital and at the physician offices of Dr. Homer Caruso and Dr. Neriel and Eva Bernblum in the Maumee, Ohio area.
Pat was a voracious reader and she had a zest for learning. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, swimming, cooking, gardening, animals and caring for people. Everywhere Pat went she made a friend. She loved to converse with people and learn their stories. Pat was involved in many activities including the Twin Cities Women’s Club, Bluewater Bay Garden Club, bunco groups, water aerobics group, and quilting at the church. She loved laughter, hunting for antiques, playing games with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and babies.
She will be sorely missed by her entire family, friends and everyone with whom she had contact. She will be laid to rest in Floydsburg Cemetery in Crestwood, Kentucky on Tuesday, June 14, 2022. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society.
