Virginia Day

Virginia June Bagby Day, aged 97, went home to the Lord peacefully in her sleep January 29.2021 of natural causes.  She was a retired registered nurse from Our Lady of Peace Hospital which was a career that fulfilled her passion to help others.  In 1943 she graduated from Grant Hospital as an RN and then graduated in 1977 from Spalding University with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  She continued post baccalaureate studies throughout her life.

Virginia was a long-time member of Southeast Christian Church and attended the Church of Christian Faith in the villages, FL for 15 years.  She loved her time with family, reading, learning, traveling and cooking. 

Anxious for her arrival in heaven are her husband, Forrest B. Day; daughter, Charlotte Day McGinnis; parents, Daniel R. and Susan Grinstead Bagby of Uhrichsville, Ohio; sister, Marguerite Dickerson; brother, Francis Bagby and granddaughter, Hannah Ehrbar.

She is survived by her children, Juanita Davis of Louisville, KY and F. Tim Day (Nancy) of Crestwood, KY; son in law, Jack McGinnis; grandchildren, Paul Ehrbar, Jennifer Zamaites (John), Carrie Holbrook (Doug), Mannix Davis, Matthew McGinnis (Kate), Dr. Kimberly Day Bambach (Sven), Timothy Day and Lindsay Elrod (Jeff); ten great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.

A private memorial will be held at Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville, KY and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.  Expressions of sympathy may be made to Southeast Christian Church located at 920 Blankenbaker Campus, Louisville, KY 40243.
