Tammy Chavies

Tammy Chavies, age 50, of Louisville, KY passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022.  Tammy was a very unique, perceptive, and intuitive person.  She charmed those around her as though she knew the very effect she had!  Tammy was persuasive. She had super powers! She intrigued others with a profound resiliency that few could relate to but were deeply inspired by. Tammy's patience was part of her superpower, but once it ran out, beware of flying toys and empty milkshake bottles!  She was a Houdini, a magician, an influencer!  In spite of adversity, Tammy’s energy and fortitude left others in awe. She was far more than meets the eye. Those who knew her would agree that her spirited personality and comical sense of humor could brighten and change the course of a person's day. She was determined. She knew what she wanted, and somehow, in the very face of blindness, she knew precisely where to find her favorite things!  Tammy's favorite things were no different than those of many others. She loved a warm bath, the soothing touch of having her hair brushed, the sway of a porch swing, and of course, the sweetest milkshake!  What a character she was and a sweet soul who will be remembered by all who knew her.

Tammy was a longtime and well-loved participant at Zoom Group's Garden House and Lifeworks program.  She resided with two extraordinary caregivers through Open Doors and is survived by Monteka Porter, Victor Porter, Titan Porter, Victory Porter, Laniya Porter, Judy Smith, and Jeff Drake.
