Roy Andrew Parrish

Roy Andrew Parrish, 84, of La Grange, Kentucky, was born on November 9, 1941, to George and Betty (Sherley) Parrish. He peacefully passed away at his home on July 27, 2026, with his children by his side, holding his hands. 

Roy lived a full and meaningful life characterized by his quiet presence, unspoken kindness, unwavering work ethic, and deep devotion to his family. He found his greatest joy in life's simple blessings and in the time spent with those he loved most. 

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Shirley Ann (Ward) Parrish, whom he never stopped missing. Their enduring love was the foundation of their family and remained with him throughout his life. He was also preceded in death by his brother, George Lee Parrish. 

Roy is survived by his children, Alisa (Terry) Hettinger and Brian (Rena) Parrish; his grandchildren, Kimberly Lawson, Emily (Dustin) Woods, Nick Hettinger, Ryan Hettinger, Sarah (Alex) Newmark, and Elizabeth Parrish; his cherished great-grandchildren, Josiah Hettinger, Wesley Woods, Maxwell Woods, Leo Hoo-Chong, Thomas Woods, Jonathan Woods, Max Hoo-Chong, Rosemary Woods, Charlotte Newmark, and Madeline Woods; and his sister, Irene Broyles. 

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Roy's life on Saturday, August 8, 2026, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Stoess Funeral Home in Crestwood, Kentucky. Interment will immediately follow at Floydsburg Cemetery.
