Ronald Lee Schwoeppe, 62, of Louisville Kentucky, passed away on August 5th, 2024, at his home. Ron, to his friends and family, was a lifelong Louisville native. He was born on November 30, 1961, to Margie and John Schwoeppe.
Ron graduated from Eastern High School, after which he went to the University of Louisville to earn both a Bachelor of Science in 1984 and a Juris Doctorate in 1987. Ron was a proud member of the Kentucky Bar Association and the National District Attorneys Association as a practicing attorney for over 32 years. Ron served as an Assistant Commonwealth Attorney for the city of Louisville in the late 1980s before moving into an Assistant Director of Law position with the city. He was a proud member of the Jefferson County sheriff’s office, serving Aas a Deputy Sheriff for 12 years. Ron also loved serving his community as an elected City Commissioner for the City of Middletown.
Although Ron held many titles in his occupations and service, it was the titles he held outside that meant the most to him; brother, uncle, friend, and Christ follower. For those who knew Ron, he was a selfless, kind, loving person who would give the shirt off his back to help another. From Turkey dinners to birthday celebrations, Ron loved a gathering of friends and family. He will be remembered for his unique sense of humor, his love for community and family, and his desire to help others in whatever way he could.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, John T. and Margie D. Schwoeppe. He is survived by his sister Toni (Kevin) Waller, niece, Cristy (Brad) McMahan, great nephews, Jack and Cash, and a host of close friends and extended family members.
A celebration of life service will be held at Adventure Christian Church, located at 3321 Ruckriegel Parkway in J-town Kentucky, on Saturday, September 28th, 2024.
