Robert Lawrence Tapp Sr.

Robert “Bobby” Lawrence Tapp, Sr. passed away peacefully on July 20th, 2024 at the age of 77. He spent his final days at home surrounded and cared for by family. Born March 8th, 1947 in Louisville, KY, Bobby was a man who lived a full life. 

He was a United States postal carrier for over 30 years and a member of the Knights of Columbus for 5 years. The Knights are a brotherhood who demonstrate lives of faith in action- seeking to do God’s work. 

In spite of his gruff exterior, inside he had a heart of gold. As someone who was always willing to help and give, in lieu of flowers we would like to ask for donations to the Orphanage Care Alliance, a cause dear to him.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret Dee Tapp (Simpson), William Arch Tapp, Sr., brothers William (Billy) Arch Tapp, Jr., Herman Tapp, and Johnny Tapp. 

Bobby is survived by his sister, Noralee Moock (Tommy, Sr.), his partner of many years, Berenda Burns. He also leaves behind his children, Robert L. From-Tapp, Jr. (Allison From-Tapp), Shawn Tapp (Laura Tapp), Anne Brownell (Michael Brownell), Denise Tapp (Todd McCullough), Jackie Smith (James Smith), and 21 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces, and nephews. 

Funeral Mass will be Friday 11 am, St. Aloysius Catholic Church with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens East.  Visitation will be Thursday 2-8 pm, Stoess Funeral Home, Crestwood.
