Robert Evans Hicks

Robert E. Hicks, 83, of Crestwood, Kentucky, passed away Friday, March 12, 2021. He was born on February 18, 1938 in Trenton, New Jersey. Bob is a proud graduate of the Peddie School in Hightstown, New Jersey. He attended Princeton University where he played soccer, competed on the wrestling squad, and was a member of Cannon Club; he was graduated in 1959. In 1975, Bob and his family moved to Crestwood, Kentucky, where he had a successful career as a Mechanical Engineer with the General Electric Company. He was a member of the Pewee Valley Presbyterian Church where, throughout the years, he taught Sunday School, served as an Elder, and participated in a myriad of other church activities. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harriette and Evans Hicks, and his son, David J. Hicks. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lois M. Hicks, a son, Andrew R. Hicks (Elizabeth), David’s wife (Ashley), his grandchildren, William, Ellen, Benjamin, Caroline and Ella and a brother, James R. Hicks (Eileen). A small, family memorial service will be held at Pewee Valley Presbyterian Church with interment to follow at Floydsburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Bob’s honor to the Pewee Valley Presbyterian Church.
