Robert D. Baker, 87 of Louisville passed away Saturday February 13th, 2021. He was a retired electrician and a 60 year member of Local Union 369 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Over the years he served his union in many leadership roles; he was a member of the Executive Board, Business Representative, Assistant Business Manager, Chairman of the Apprenticeship Committee, represented construction electricians, neon sign builders and erectors in Kentucky and Southern Indiana, Trustee of the sign division health insurance plan. He completed labor courses at the University of Kentucky.
He was a Member of the Kentucky Army National Guard, 138th Field Artillery Headquarter battery, Staff Sergeant in communication, President of Southern Louisville Sportsman's Club. He was a member of the Louisville Board of Realtors, a Kentucky Colonel and an Alumni of DuPont Manual High School.
His hobby was gardening and hybridizing daylilies. He was a member of the American Hemerocallis Society and Louisville daylily Society.
He was a member of Jeffersontown Senior Citizens where he loved to play Pinochle. He was a Baptist by Faith. He was the husband of the late Sally B. Baker. He is survived by His Children Susan Taurman(Pat); Rebecca Miller(Chas); Robert Baker(Linda).Also 5 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren.
