Ricky Allen Hardin (Rick) went home to be with the Lord on March 8, 2025 at the age of 63 after a strong and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He departed this world, with his wife Marian, by his side in their home in Crestwood.
Rick was born on November 18, 1961 to parents Theodore Roosevelt Hardin and Veneta Kayes Hardin. Rick grew up in Springfield Kentucky alongside 7 brothers and sisters. It's where his love for family, hard work and dedication to the Lord began.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 34 years Marian Mann Hardin. They have three children, Tony Shaffner (Mai), Elaina Gordon (Stephen) & Ericka Brandon (Chase). Rick has five grandchildren, Dakota, Riloh, Cora, Ezra, & Wren.
Rick was a faithful employee of DC Elevator. He served there for 33 years. After retiring from DC, Rick went on to become an elevator inspector for the state. His leadership, integrity, and honesty were unmatched. If you ever met Rick you would know him by his smile and laughter.
Rick loved the outdoors and to see God's beautiful creation. He entertained himself and his friends, playing competitive rounds of golf at the Oldham County Country Club. He spent his winters hunting, and his Sundays serving in the Crestwood Baptist children's ministry for over 20 years. The joy of his life was spent with his beloved wife Marian and reverence of the family and life they had built together.
Rick’s final words were that he was ready to go home. “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.”(Romans 8:18) Rick Hardin is still a beloved husband, father, brother and friend. He now worships the most high God at an arms reach.
