Rene D. Zamora

Rene D. Zamora (age 82) passed away on February 11, 2025 at his residence, Magnolia Springs East, in Louisville, Kentucky with family by his side.

He was born in South Amboy, New Jersey, attended Seton Hall Prep, and graduated from the University of Detroit in 1964 with a BA in mathematics. Shortly after, he began his career at AT&T, remaining with the company for 25 years until he retired in 1989. At AT&T, he met his wife, Cecilia, and they raised their family of three sons in New Jersey until his retirement. Not long after, they moved to Crestwood, Kentucky.

Rene was a devoted husband and father, who loved spending time with his close, as well as extended, family. He was also an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, boating, and fishing in his spare time. He loved travel, especially when it also offered the bonus of fishing in a new location.

He is survived by his wife, Cecilia, children Kurt (Mariana), Peter, and Andrew (Hedieh), and grandchildren Yazan, Max, Ava, Ines, Emilia, and Ariana.

A private memorial service will be held at the St. Aloysius cemetery at 11 a.m. on February 19, 2025.
