Remembering Randall Downey, born September 1st, 1937, in Bradfordsville, KY. He took his final journey to meet his heavenly maker on January 23rd, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. Husband to Betty for 67 years, they created a family that spans generations. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty (nee Evans), and their two children Penny Davidson (Rick), and Randy Downey (Vicki), as well as four grandchildren; Amy Strite (Dave), Megan Smith (Bryan), Chris Downey (Kati) and Ashley George (Matthew); as well as 10 great grandchildren and twin boys on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother and is survived by his sisters: Lucy, Helen, Jeri and brothers, Danny and Ray, as well as their spouses and children.
Randall loved music and was a talented guitar player and singer. His greatest joys were the Lord, laughter, and his family. He loved playing with his grandchildren and even his great grandchildren, always making time for tea parties, make believe, fishing and fun. He was well respected throughout his career as a crane operator and master mechanic and taught his family the value of hard work. Well known for his humor and thriftiness- he was quite cheap- in equal measure, he was the perfect example for us all of a life well-lived and well-loved. He will be deeply missed until we see him again and Heaven.
