Cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Nancy Dyer Schimpeler Nemeth peacefully departed this life on March 12, 2026, surrounded by the quiet grace that marked her life. She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Erica Anne McDowell; her son, Peter Nemeth, Jr.; her cherished grandchildren, Chloë Grace, Nicholas Erin Cole, Page Marie, and Amber Nicole; and her sister, Suzanne Marie. Nancy was a devoted lifelong resident of Pewee Valley, Kentucky, where she delighted in long walks along the magnificent tree-lined avenues of the village she held so dear. A faithful member of St. Aloysius Parish, Nancy received all the Sacraments of the Church there and remained deeply devoted to her parish community, the sacred rhythms of parish life, and the quiet beauty of worship. Ms. Nemeth earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Kentucky and her Master of Arts from Indiana University. A gifted Latin scholar, she spoke four languages fluently and shared her love of language through teaching and tutoring French, Spanish, and Latin. Her intellectual curiosity never waned, and she remained an avid student of languages until just a few months before her passing. Nancy also enjoyed a distinguished career in real estate, thoughtfully owning and managing investments throughout the Oldham County community.
