Myrtle F Smith

Myrtle F. Smith, 95, of Crestwood, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 24, 2025. 

Born in Owensboro, KY, on September 7, 1929, Myrtle lived in Louisville and moved to Crestwood when she and Warren A. Smith married. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Warren, her sister and brother-in-law Virginia and Lindsay “T” Smith and her parents William and Minnie Phelps.  She is survived by her children Stephen Smith (Becky), Suzanne Hines (Philip), her sister Catherine Phillips, grandchildren Leslie Chilton (John Mark) and Neil Smith (Rebecca), and seven great-grandchildren. 

Myrtle loved her beautiful roses, flowers and her gardens, and canned and preserved all manner of fruits and vegetables for her family.  She loved the Lord and her church and singing all the old hymns. 

Visitation will be held at Stoess Funeral Home in Crestwood on Wednesday evening, August 27, from 4pm-8pm.  Service will be held at DeHaven Baptist Church in LaGrange on Thursday morning, August 28 with visitation at 10am with the service beginning at 11am, immediately followed by procession to Floydsburg Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to DeHaven Baptist Church.
