Mary Roberta (Clark) Brown

Born 25 August 1927. The soul survivor of her immediate family. Mary passed away on Sunday 2 November 2025 at the age of 98.

She is survived by her daughter Lynn K. (Brown) Turpen and son, Timothy S. Brown and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She greatly loved us all and would do anything for us. She and Dad made sure we had all that we needed. Mom worked hard for us to make sure we had good food on the table and clean clothes to wear and that we got the very best education they could afford. Her love for us was tremendous. We are very Blessed to have had her and Dad as our parents. When Dad, Stanley H. Brown, passed on 11 October of 2023 at the age of 97, they were just three months shy of their 77th wedding anniversary. Ma “as she was affectionately known by all of us,” lived a full life. Mom grew up in a day where she carried in coal for the coal stove and ice blocks were delivered to them every morning for the “ice box”, not a refrigerator. She was a fierce protector of her children. She was active at their grade school cafeteria while they attended school there and our high schools. She fought for fairness and what was right, be that at public schools, the election polls serving as Precinct Captain or in everyday life. We had a great upbringing. Mom taught values, courtesy, and morality. Life meanings that we are so grateful to have been given. No one could have asked for a better mom. We will always love Mom and Dad and they will always be in our thoughts
