SHIRLEY M. MARSHALL, age 96, of Louisville, KY passed away December 20, 2020. She was predeceased by her husband, James Paxton Marshall, her son, John Edward Marshall and her sister, Betty Moser Largen.
Shirley was born and raised on the family dairy farm in Oldham County Kentucky. After graduating from the University of Kentucky she was the culinary expert on the popular WAVE-TV program, Flavor to Taste. She went on to teach high school English in Lansing, Michigan, Prince George’s County, Maryland and Charlottesville, Virginia. Upon her retirement in 1992 she returned to the family dairy farm where she and her sister, Betty, handmade excellent Gouda cheese. In her spare time, she enjoyed water aerobics with her “Y Gang” and cheering for her beloved University of Virginia basketball team.
Survivors include her children: Julia, Jane, and Jim. Other survivors include her sister, Mary Ann, three grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Burial will be private.
