Kathleen (Gullett Barnett) Adler, age 90, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023, at 8:05 am, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville KY. Daughter of William Arthur Gullett and Elizabeth Ellen Gullett.
Mrs. Adler is preceded in death by James Bernard Barnett with whom she had 6 beautiful children. Anne who died at birth, Ellen who died in 1999, as well as Harold Lemon Adler. Two sisters, two brothers, three half-sisters and four half-brothers and two grandsons
Kathleen was an active member of New Hope Baptist Church in Crestwood KY, where she taught crafts during Vacation Bible School as well as built the life-size animals for the living Nativity that she stood in every Christmas season up until her illness. She worked several jobs to support her family.
Kathleen enjoyed building, sewing blankets for each new baby that was born into the family, baking with her sister Bea cakes for birthdays and weddings. She loved to camp and spend time outdoors with her family.
Kathleen was very family oriented. Always ready to lend a helping hand to her family when needed. She shared a close special bond with her sister Bea and brother Chester.
Kathleen is survived by her 4 loving children, her son James T. Barnett, and daughters Wanda S. Laird, Dorothy M. McClain (Mike), and Deborah K. Randall (Eddie), and stepdaughter Linda Latham (Dean).
As her illness progressed, she talked daily about seeing her mom and daughter again in Heaven. We can only imagine the celebration she is having in Heaven being reunited with her siblings, two daughters and her parents.
