Joseph M Wathen, Sr.

Joseph M. Wathen Sr., 79, beloved husband of Elizabeth Jeanette (Thompson) Wathen, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lebanon Kentucky, the son of the late James and Anna Lucille Wathen.  Joe was a proud United States Army Veteran who served in a Construction Battalion and retired after 32 years of service with Ford Motor Company.  Besides his wife of 60 years, he is survived by his son, Joseph McGee Wathen Jr. (Cindy), daughters, Alisa Lipsky (David), Julita Mann (Chris), daughter in law, Cindy Wathen (David) and brother, Bill Wathen.  He had 7 grandchildren, Christopher Wathen (Melina), Branden Wathen (Jennifer), Joseph Mann (Tori), Jeston Mann (Sidney), Elizabeth Mann, Zachary O’Daniel (Erika), Kyndall Lipsky and Claire Wathen, as well as 4 great grandchildren, Emil, Nora, Molly, Mia and 2 more on the way.  He is preceded in death by his son, Tim Wathen and his siblings, Beatrice, Bobby, Tommy, G.W., Adaline, Lula, Clarice, Judy, Helen, Louise and Lucille. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to Hosparus Health or Mass of the Air.
