Joseph Lee Thacker

Joseph Lee Thacker, of Crestwood, passed away on August 4th, 2023. He was 84. He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 yrs., Alice Brown Thacker. Joseph is survived by his Son Jeff Thacker, Daughter Becky Carr (Ron), Granddaughters Amberly Simpson Terstage (Art) and Allyson Simpson (Justin), as well as a brother, Ron Thacker (Saundra). Joe worked at Jeff Boat for many years as a welder along with his dad and brother. After Jeff Boat he went to work for Ford Motor Company where he worked in the maintenance department. Joe retired at age 62 after 30 years. Joe’s passion was golf. He was a member of the Oldham Country Club for many years. Joe and his wife Alice Faye spent many hours on their beautiful back porch after retirement. He made a “driving range” in the back of his home on their six acres.Always hitting the ball to land in his father-in-law’s pond.Joe loved mowing his land and taking care of his home with his John Deere tractor.Joe died peacefully surrounded by his family. Joe (dad) will be sadly missed by many.
