PEWEE VALLEY - Jeanne Marie (Hardt) Clark, 97, passed away on Friday October 17th 2025, under the care of Hospice at Baptist East.
Jeanne graduated from Mercy High School with honors. Her organizational skills were used to perform bookkeeping services for the family business. She worked as the assistant director of activities at Friendship Manor Nursing Home where you could often find her singing and dancing with residents in the hallways.
She helped open a library to the public at St Aloysuis School, which later led to South Oldham Public Library being opened in the county. She volunteered over the years at the church Bargain Store, with the American Red Cross and in St. Aloysuis School cafeteria, Alter Society, and church picnics. Jeanne was a devout catholic for all of her life.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband Norman E Clark, Sr and her parents Andrew and Esther Hardt and her five siblings.
Jeanne is survived by her seven children, Donna (Clarence) Rode, Nancy Clark, Anita Urschel, Beth (Ron) Frye, Stan (Laura) Clark, Norman (Susie) Clark, and Mary Clark (Rick Marshall). Also, she is survived by ten grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
The family expresses special thanks to her special caregivers including those she thought of as daughters, Judy Lytle and Susie Clark.
Visitation will be Monday, 10:30am to 12:30pm, followed by a brief service at the Stoess Funeral Home in Crestwood, Kentucky. Burial will take place at St Aloysius Cemetery immediately after.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Aloysuis Catholic Church, The American Red Cross or Hospice.
