Jean (Jeanie) Gail (Mayo) Henry

Jean Gail (Mayo) "Jeanie" Henry, 78, of Pewee Valley, passed away at home surrounded by her family at 8:36 pm on Monday, December 31st, 2018.  

Jean was born on September 18th, 1940 in Boston, Massachusetts and raised by her Nana, Marion Weller Sparrow Mayo.  She attended Orleans High School on Cape Cod.  She resided in several different places during her life, including Henderson, Nevada, Galena, Kansas, and Louisville/Pewee Valley, Kentucky.  While living in Galena and in Louisville, she worked as a cashier at Wal-Mart.  She enjoyed bird watching, gardening, puzzles, coloring and reading.  

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Henry Sr.; her Nana, Marion Weller Sparrow Mayo; her mother, Dorothy Roderick and step father, Albert Roderick and two grandsons, Sean Berry and William Jackie Burks.

She is survived by her four biological children, Gordon Brooke (Jolynne) of Henderson, Nevada; Donna Staub (Bill) of Pewee Valley, KY;  Douglas Henry (Erika) of Tuscon, Arizona, Patricia Barrett (Chris) of Shepherdsville, KY; nine stepchildren, Agnes, Beth, Carol, Dea, Theresa, Billy, Chris and their families; and fifteen biological grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.  

Funeral service will be Friday, 10 am, Stoess Funeral Home, Crestwood with burial to follow in Floydsburg Cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday, 4-8 pm.
