James Bryant “Jimmy” Heil (59) of Smithfield, KY passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his family on September 26th, 2023 after a 3 year battle with Glioblastoma.
Jimmy was born in Louisville, KY on 12/31/1963 and was an avid golfer, enthusiastic (blue) corvette owner, and expert navigator of the many coves of Lake Cumberland. He was always quick with a joke and his infectious, perpetually optimistic, outlook on life was immediately felt and shared by everyone he encountered.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Melvin Heil.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 29 years, Lucretia Bernice Heil, and their three daughters, Kamber (Drew) Hillebrand, Kati (Luke) Anderson, and Kalli (Matt) Bullock, as well as his mother, Madeline Heil; sister, Carol Heil; brother, Kenny (Cindy) Heil; and grandchildren Hayes Hillebrand, Emma and Seth Anderson, and Lyla Bullock.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 29th at Stoess Funeral Home in Crestwood, KY from noon to 7:30 PM followed by a service beginning at 7:30 PM.
Mass will be held at St. Aloysius Catholic Church on Saturday, September 30th at 10:00 AM followed by a graveside service at Floydsburg Cemetery at 11:30.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that expressions of sympathy be made in Jimmy Heil’s name to the “Tunnel to Towers Foundation” at T2T.org.
