“Jake” John Lewis Luxemburger IV was born on September 25 th , 2012 in Louisville, KY and
passed away September 16 th , 2023 near his home in Crestwood, KY. He was a little over a week
away from his 11 th birthday.
Jake enjoyed being a student and hanging out with his friends at Kenwood Station Elementary.
After school, he could be found running around his neighborhood with the other kids, riding
bikes, swimming, fishing, and playing Fortnite. He was an avid UofL fan who loved football
tailgates and watching games with his family.
From the beginning, Jake and his sister Rylee had a bond that cannot be explained. Their inside
jokes and banter were second to none. Rylee is going to miss his smile, his freckles, and
watching him play baseball the most.
Jake also adored his cousins. At family events, he could often be found running around with the
younger cousins, playing games and sports, practicing how to throw and catch. But more than
anything, Jake loved playing baseball with some of his best friends at Lyndon Recreation where
his father was his coach. His competitiveness, determination, and love for the game helped him
stand apart, but he enjoyed having fun competing alongside teammates, coaches, and his
father.
Jake was an All-American kid with an infectious smile. He lit up any room he walked in. He
would go above and beyond to help any friend or family member, no matter the task. From a
young age, he was incredibly caring and giving. His family and friends will forever remember his
caring heart, his perfect blonde hair, and how he could instantly put anyone in a good mood.
Quite simply, to know Jake was to love Jake.
