Jack Ervin, 68, of Prospect, KY went home to be with Jesus on August 28th, 2024, at Baptist Health LaGrange surrounded by his loving wife and son. He was a simple man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life like hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He attended Morehead State University where he played football, received a degree in Agriculture, and met his wife. After teaching Agriculture and serving as the FFA advisor 6 years in upper Sandusky, Ohio, he moved to Kentucky and worked in multiple positions before beginning his career with RKR Inc. as an electrician. During this time, he also attended and taught electricity with Independant Electrical Contractors. Jack was a member of Harrods Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He also served as a Boy Scout leader for Troop 167 in Crestwood.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Billie Joe and Gladys Ervin and father-in-law Roy T. Broyles.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Mary Jane (Broyles); a son, Hunter; brother, Billie Joe (Margie); mother-in-law, Irene Broyles; a brother-in-law, Roy Lee Broyles (Sheila); and several cherished nieces, nephews, and friends.
We would like to thank all those dedicated folks at LaGrange Baptist who helped and cared for him in so many ways. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his church, Harrods Creek Baptist Church in Brownsboro.
