"Ace" H.W. Purvis Sr., 83 of Abbott Lane passed away December 30th, 2021 at Baptist Health LaGrange. Ace was born August 6th, 1938 to T.W. Purvis and Sonora Williams Purvis. He used to drive a milk truck and would pick up milk from some of the farms in Oldham County. He got a job at Ford Truck Plant and that is where he retired from. He enjoyed being on his farm that he and his late wife Rosie built. he had all kinds of animals at different times. He was always watching the Nascar races. He would settle down in the evenings by watching Wheel of Fortune and the Old Nashville and Bluegrass Gospel music on TV shows. He will be laid to rest next to the love of his life Rosie and son Daniel. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Billy Purvis; sister and brother in law Anne Mae Fey and Gene Fey and sister Anita Maitland.
He is survived by his sister in law Jerry Purvis; brother in law George Maitland; children, Herbert "Wayne" Purvis Jr. (Carol), Bobby Joe Purvis Sr., and Joyce Dillard (Rodney); 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and lots of nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He will be missed but never forgotten.
Funeral service will be Saturday, 12 pm, Stoess Funeral Home, Crestwood with a procession passing the farm on Abbott Lane for burial and a graveside service to follow in Floydsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 am until time of service.
