George (Tip) Kockentiet

Tip was born in Columbus, Ohio and raised in Clarksville, Indiana. He attended Indiana University where he worked his way through college.He served time in the Army stationed overseas in Heidelberg, Germany. Afterwards, he moved to Louisville, Kentucky, becoming the Assistant Golf Pro at Big Spring Country Club.During the 70’s and 80’s, Tip was a PGA Tour Rep for Maxfli, traveling with the Tour and working with renowned players such as Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus.

Tip was an avid bird hunter and fisherman, and he loved the outdoors. He loved and adored Labradors, and during his 39 years of marriage with Cindy, they raised 8 Labrador puppies. Each one was a joy to Tip.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy, son, Ryan (Emily), granddaughter, Zoey, brother, Raymond (Tim) and sister, Alice Rodgers (Larry).

A Celebration of Life will be held at Southeast Christian Church in Crestwood, Kentucky from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, March 18th – address 6220 Crestwood Station, Crestwood, Kentucky 40014

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Oldham County Humane Society – 2601 Interior Way, Lagrange KY 40031, or to the Salvation Army.
