Gavin Jeffrey Byrd

Gavin Jeffrey Byrd, 26, passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 26,  2020 at his home in Louisville, KY.  He was born on July 3, 1994 in Dover, Ohio.  Gavin, a free spirit, had an infectious smile and beautiful blue eyes.  He was a ray of sunshine guaranteed to light up every room.  He graduated from Oldham County High School in Buckner, KY and had a passion for music and a gift for making everyone feel loved and accepted.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Terry Shaver of Dennison, Oh and his aunt,Patricia Campbell of Uhrichsville, OH.

He is survived by his parents Barbara Byrd of Louisville, KY and  Jeffrey (Monica) Byrd of Pittsfield, IL; his brother Brennan Byrd; step brothers Michael (Tarah) Hoxsie, Andrew (Madelyn) Hoxsie and step sister Shea Radcliff; Grandparents Gary and Patricia Wright; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Visitation will be at Stoess Funeral Home in Crestwood, KY.  Calling hours will be open to the public on Monday August 31st from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.  Funeral and interment will be private.

Addiction does not discriminate nor define you.  The chains can be broken and you can be set free.  You do not have to see the whole staircase, you just have to take the first step.  Matthew 11:28 “Come to ME, all you are weary and burdened and I will give you rest” Jesus aches for our pain and is ready to heal if we let him into our hearts.
