Everett Thomas Jones, 69, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of February 23, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky, after a long and courageous battle with cancer that began in April of 2022. He was born on May 13, 1956, in Franklin, Indiana to John Thomas Jones and Eloise Morrison.
After nearly four years of fighting with quiet strength and resilience, Everett is now at peace and free from pain. He is reunited with the love of his life, his wife, Julie Ann Jones, who preceded him in death in March of 2025.
Everett was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and family man above all else. He is survived by his sons, Jesse Jones, Zachary Jones (Tessa Jones), and Taylor Jones (Jillian Shelton), his cherished granddaughters, Sophia “Vincent” Jones, Aspen Jones, and Avery Jones, and his brother, Larry Jones. His family was his greatest pride and purpose, and he never hesitated to put their needs before his own.
Everett retired from Deco Paper Products, where he was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and dedication. He was a hardworking man with a heart of gold. Selfless, steady, and always willing to lend a helping hand.
Outside of work, Everett found his greatest peace in nature. He loved fishing and could spend hours by the water, content and patient. The Smoky Mountains held a special place in his heart, where he enjoyed the quiet beauty of the outdoors and time spent with family. He also had a well known love of Bigfoot. Everett brought humor, stories, and plenty of smiles to those around him.
Everett also shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Daisy, a Great Dane mix who was always by his side. Whether they were playing a game of catch in the yard or simply taking an afternoon nap together, Daisy was his loyal companion and constant friend. Their quiet moments together were a reflection of the gentle and loving nature that defined him.
Everett will be remembered as a true joy, a steady presence, a loving husband, father and grandfather, and a man whose kindness and selflessness shaped the lives of those around him. His greatest legacy is the family he built and cherished, and the love that will continue to surround them, guide them, and hold them close in the years ahead.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance on February 27th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with services beginning at 2:00 p.m. and burial to follow, at Stoess Funeral Home, 6534 W State Highway 22, Crestwood, Kentucky 40014.
