Elizabeth Jeanette (Thompson) Wathen

Elizabeth Jeanette Wathen, 79, passed away on Saturday, January 21st, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Lebanon Kentucky, the daughter of the late Joseph and Emma Thompson.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph M. Wathen, Sr., and son, Tim Wathen.  She is survived by her son, Joseph McGee Wathen Jr. (Cindy), daughters, Alisa Lipsky (David), Julita Mann (Chris), daughter in law, Cindy Wathen (David); 7 grandchildren, Christopher Wathen (Melina), Branden Wathen (Jennifer), Joseph Mann (Tori), Jeston Mann (Sidney), Elizabeth Mann, Zachary O’Daniel (Erika), Kyndall Lipsky and Claire Wathen, as well as 6 great grandchildren, Emil, Nora, Molly, Mia, Bennett, and  Lucy.  She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Richard “Bryce” Riggs, Toby Hall, Geneva Osbourne, Theresa Carrico, Cynthia Molinda, Emma Higdon, Mary “Patsy” Osborne, Christine Hayden, Willard Thompson, Bernard Thompson, and Woodrow Thompson.  Funeral Mass will be Thursday 11 am, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with burial to follow in Valley of Rest Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday 4-8 pm, and Thursday 9 am to 10:30 am, Stoess Funeral Home, Crestwood, followed by mass.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to American Cancer Society or Mass of the Air.
