Eleanor Marina (Tiemissen) Leavitt

Eleanor Marina Leavitt, 65, of Crestwood, Kentucky passed away Sunday evening, November 19, 2023 following an extended illness.

Marina was born on March 28, 1958 in St. Thomas, Ontario and was the daughter of Peter and Bernadette Vanderzon Tiemissen. On July 23, 1977 she married her husband Bob at St. Mark’s Church in Emporium, Pennsylvania. She worked for many years in the medical profession and later volunteered at the Oldham County Humane Society.She loved to boat, fish, work in her flower gardens, and spend time with her family and pets.

Marina is survived by her husband Bob, son Jim (Morgan)Leavitt of Clarksburg, MD; son Ryan (Tina) Leavitt of Enid, OK; daughter Kelley (John) Davis of Crestwood, KY; brother Tim Tiemissen of

Emporium, PA; and sister Carina (Jim) Eddy of California. She has six beautiful grandchildren, Barrett, Vivian, George, Dean, Penny, and Lennon. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Tom Tiemissen.

Funeral service will be 1:00 pm, Friday, November 24, 2023, Stoess Funeral Home, Crestwood.   Her viewing will be Friday, November 24, 2023 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Burial will follow immediately after at the Floydsburg Cemetery located at the Duncan Memorial Chapel in Crestwood.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to the Humane Society of Oldham County.
