Earl Powell

It is with deep sadness, but full hearts, that we announce the passing of Earl Ray Powell on October 28, 2023. He was 68 years old. Earl was born in LaGrange, KY to Herbert and Doris Powell on March 14, 1955. He is survived by his wife, Darlene; children, Becky (Michael) Patrick, Andy (Stephanie), and Cayse (Dayo); his grandchildren Gabrielle, Olivia, and Julia as well as his sister Angela. He was preceded in death by his parents and his youngest sister Mary Etta.  

To provide for his family and do what he loved, he was a carpenter for almost his whole life.  In his spare time, he loved fishing, camping, woodworking, and gardening.  Like so many of us, he lived a life full of ups and downs, challenges, and triumphs.  Although he was not a man many words, it was clear that he loved God, and he loved his family.  He was a husband, dad, brother, son, and a friend to so many others. 

Earl, dad, Earl Ray, Grandad, we are so very proud of you and what you accomplished during your life. It was truly a life well lived! 

Services will be held at Pewee Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church on Tuesday October 31 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, if you would like to donate something in his name, you can choose a local church to support evangelism or the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Foundation.
