Dwayne Cobb Obituary

Dwayne was born on April 27, 1961, in Lexington, Kentucky, to Buford Jr. and Annette (Allen) Cobb. He received his BA in metal sculpture from the University of Kentucky in Lexington in 1988, where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. On April 17, 1982, he married Patricia Anne Baker (Patty). They raised two sons, Chase and Aaron, and a daughter, Aubrey. Dwayne had a passion for creating art of all types—pottery, handmade papers, large-scale metal sculpture, lapidary, lamp-worked glass, and fabricated sterling silver, copper, and brass. After working for 18 years for Hunter Manufacturing in Lexington as a manager of research and development, he leveraged his broad background in materials and processes to develop techniques for creating beautiful jewelry—wearable sculpture, he called it. As a member of the Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen, he participated in a wide variety of exhibits and events that showcased his talents in the visual arts under the name of his company, Dancin’ Dog Designs.  Dwayne was a natural-born teacher, and loved sharing his knowledge with his students in personalized classes through the Fine Arts Institute at the University of Kentucky, and at his studios in Midway, Kentucky, and Lexington. Dwayne was preceded in death by his father, Buford Cobb Jr. He is survived by his wife Patty; his three children, Chase (Ashley), Aaron, and Aubrey Warmouth (Zach); his three grandchildren, Jackson, Braelyn, and Leighton; his mother Annette Allen Cobb; brothers Buford III (Jan) and Mark, sister Tara Kaiser (Ted), and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
