Donald "Steve" Trummer Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our father, husband, grandfather and great grandfather, Steve Trummer.  He passed away peacefully on December 9th, 2024.  He touched so many lives with his kindness, his great spirit and his love of life.  He will be terribly missed by his family and friends, but his spark will shine for eternity.

Steve was born June 3rd, 1924, in Louisville to Virginia and Stephen Trummer.  He served in the Air Force in World War II.  In 1946, Steve married his childhood sweetheart and the love of his life, Hazel (Potts) and loved and adored her the 74 years they were married.  He worked 40 years for the Standard Gravure.  After retirement, Steve proudly served as a Crestwood City Commissioner for a number of years, served on the Oldham County Planning and Zoning Commission, and was a long-time member of the South Oldham Lions Club.  He was a devoted and active member of Crestwood United Methodist Church and served in several capacities through the years.

He will always be remembered for his servant's heart, his loving, giving and compassionate nature, for his ever-smiling face, and for his sweet hugs given to all he greeted at the church door.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving family; daughters, Joanne Taylor (Bill), Pam Flinchum (David) and Trish O'Dell (Gene); grandchildren, Chad Collins (Joni), Ryan Fereday (Catherine), Steve Flinchum (Joy) and 9 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Hazel (Potts) and one grandson, Ryan Flinchum.

Funeral service will be 12:00pm, Monday at Crestwood United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Floydsburg Cemetery.  Visitation will begin at 10:00am and run until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crestwood United Methodist Church or Baptist Health Foundation in Steve's name.

We were all blessed to have shared the life of this amazing man, a good servant of Christ and he can rest in peace knowing his actions of love for family and friends did not go unnoticed.
