Donald Edward Taylor, Sr

Donald Edward Taylor, Sr., age 85, of Crestwood, KY, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025, while in the hospital in Louisville, KY. His wife of 65 years was by his side. Donald was born January 17, 1940 to parents Lilburn & Elizabeth Cook Taylor & was the youngest of nine children. He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers & three sisters.

Donald is survived by his wife, Betty Pierce Taylor. A son, Don Taylor (Karolyn) of Louisville and two daughters; Patricia Taylor of Crestwood & Emma Taylor of Shelbyville, KY. He also has one brother, David Taylor (Janie) of Beaver Dam, KY. Donald had one grandson, Taylor Richards of Shelbyville and three granddaughters; Paige Taylor Jaggers (John Tyler) & Nikki Taylor of Louisville & Gracie Moore of Shelbyville. He had one great grandson, Leo Taylor of Louisville & many nieces & nephews, loved ones & friends. His second great grandchild is expected in October.

Donald was a member of Mt Tabor United Methodist church for over 55 years. He served in the US Air Force for 4 years as a military police officer, training guard dogs. Donald retired after 30 years from Ford Truck Plant. Donald was an avid golfer. He enjoyed practical jokes & making people laugh. He was good at picking at people & pushing buttons. It was never meant to hurt feelings, he just loved to make others smile. He had a huge heart & he loved his wife & children, God & his church family very much.

Visitation will be on June 9th from 10 am - 12 pm. Funeral service at 12 pm at Stoess Funeral Home in Crestwood, KY. Donald will be laid to rest at Mt Tabor Methodist church cemetery in Centerfield, KY.
