Donald D Thompson

Donald D. Thompson, 89, passed away September 21, 2022 with his wife Norma by his side at Jewish Hospital, Louisville, KY.

Donald was born February 21st, 1933 into a large family of 2 brothers and 10 sisters in Lewisport, KY to Payton and Katie Thompson.

He started his early career as a carpenter in residential construction and continued in this line of work building his own business, Thompson Construction Company.  He was most proud of the planning and building of his beloved church, Louisville First Seventh-day Adventist Church on Newburg Road here in Louisville.   He was a member wince a small child and loved doing the Lord's work in a quiet background role.  

He is survived by his wife of 70 years Norma; sons, Doug Thompson (Beth), Darrell Thompson (Geri); 2 granddaughters and 2 great grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will be at the Louisville First Seventh-day Adventist Church from 12:45pm-1:30 pm, followed by a memorial service, on October 1st, 2022.
