Catherine Elizabeth Knoch

Catherine “Cathy” Elizabeth Knoch, 71, passed away on March 19, 2026 in Louisville, Kentucky. 

Cathy was born on February 17, 1955, to Janet and James who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Kenny, one brother, Fred Ryan, and one son, Lonny Dietz.  

Cathy lived a life marked by her kindness, love, and devotion to those around her.  She was known for her strength, passion, and her “occasional” stubbornness.  She found joy in all things life had to offer including concerts, landscaping, bungee jumping, a good book and truly cherished all occasions where family and friends gathered together.  

Cathy is survived by her two sons, Thomas Dietz Jr. (LaDonna Dietz),  Michael Dietz, and her daughter, Jacinda McKinney (Tim McKinney).  As well as her sister, Jean Lyttle, ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her best friends in the whole world, Thomas Dietz Sr., and Laurie Ireland.  

A viewing will be held from 3pm to 7pm with a memorial service directly following on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at Stoess Funeral Home in Crestwood, Kentucky.   

Cathy will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
