Carolyn M Gardner

Carolyn Margaret (Metten) Gardner, 88, peacefully entered heaven, surrounded by her children, on May 15, 2022, at her residence in Pewee Valley, Kentucky.  She was born on July 5, 1933, in Louisville, the daughter of the late Anna Catherine and Joseph Clifford Metten. Carolyn was employed at Bockeys Restaurant in Crestwood, YMCA of Buckner and retired from Kentucky State Health and Family Services, in Louisville.  She is survived by her children, Pamela Pfaffinger, Deborah Clark (Billy), Karen Snyder-McCormick (Aaron), Richard Snyder (Bonnie), Cynthia Liter (Roger) and David Earl Gardner, Jr., brother, Raymond Metten, grandchildren, Tanya, her loving caregiver, Shawn, Tim, Brittany, Landon, Aaron, Zoe and Tina, 17 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband, David Gardner, Sr., her previous husband, Richard C. Snyder, brothers, Leo, Charles, Clifford and Paul, sisters, Leona, Martha Jean, Anna and her grandson, Michael Clark.  The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice for the loving care they have shown to Carolyn.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Stoess Funeral Home, Crestwood.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 20, 2022, at the funeral home. Interment will be immediately following the funeral service at Louisville Memorial Gardens East.
