Carla Sue Wheeler

In the early hours of Tuesday, March 23rd, 2021, Carla Sue Wheeler, a.k.a “Bear” passed away at the age of 74, after a hard rally against the cancer that took her.  Carla was born November 30th, 1946 in Louisville, KY where she was a lifelong resident. She was a loving, caring mother, wife, grandmother and friend and a great comfort to all in need. Her greatest passion was to listen and make all that came to her for counsel feel loved and cared for and make sure all were fed!  Carla was known for her quick wit, her ferociousness and her giving heart and was an avid Bingo player.  She is survived by her husband and lifelong partner of 56 years, Robert B. Wheeler. Her children, Michelle Bartlett; Caryn Petross (Don); Robert Wheeler (Terrie); Toni Shackleford (Billy).  Her grandchildren Becky Newton (Larry); Kristen Logsdon (Jacob); Victoria Bartlett; and Ezra Singleton (Josh).  Seven great grandchildren and many, many “adopted” children and grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed by all!

Funeral Service will be Friday 2 PM, Stoess Funeral Home, Crestwood with burial to follow in Valley of Rest Cemetery.  Visitation will be 11 AM until time of service.
