Billy Horton, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2026, at the age of 70. He was born on October 16, 1955, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to the late Mildred and James Thomisee.
Billy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was married to his beloved wife, Linda, and together they built a beautiful family that was the center of his world. He was the proud father of two daughters, Nicole and April.
Nicole is married to Paul, and together they have three daughters, Caroline, Audrey, and Lila. April is married to Derrick, and together they have four children, Addison, Dean, Beaux, and Hunter. Billy treasured every moment spent with his family and took great pride in being a husband, dad, and “Papa.” His grandchildren brought him tremendous joy, and some of his happiest moments were simply being surrounded by the people he loved most.
Billy was a member of Southeast Christian Church and held his faith close to his heart. He was known for being loving, kind, and generous, always willing to give of himself to the people around him. He had a way of making those he loved feel cared for and welcomed.
Billy retired after careers with UPS and Humana. Outside of work, he enjoyed playing golf, traveling, cheering on LSU football, and, most of all, spending time with his family. Whether he was traveling to a new place, watching his beloved LSU Tigers, enjoying a round of golf, or simply gathered around the table with his family, Billy found joy in the simple moments of life.
Billy leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through his wife, daughters, sons-in-laws, grandchildren, family, and friends. Though he will be deeply missed, the love he gave so freely and the memories he created will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and James Thomisee.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. at Southeast Christian Church – Crestwood. A funeral service will follow immediately at 4:00 p.m.
