Betty Lykins Obituary

Betty Lee Arnett Woosley Lykins passed away at the age of 90 on Friday, April 25th, 2025, at Signature Healthcare in Spencer County, after health complications from a stroke suffered in December 2022. She was born February 2, 1935, in Cannel City, KY to Hermon and Eva Arnett.

Betty was a homemaker and family caregiver her entire life. She married at the age of 17 to the love of her life, Walter. They had 1 child together, Linda Darlene, who was born with Cerebral Palsy and spent her entire 14 years bedridden, unable to do anything for herself. They adopted their daughter Diana Lee at birth.

Betty’s love for her family was fierce. Family meant the world to her, and she longed to go home to be with those loved ones who had went before her.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Walter M. Woosley, a daughter, Linda Darlene, her second husband, Everett Lykins, her parents Hermon and Eva Arnett, a sister, Geraldine A. Montgomery, a brother in-law, George R. Montgomery, a brother, Gary H. Arnett, and her granddaughter, Brandi Leigh.

Left to cherish her memory are, Diana (Mike) Vuick of Taylorsville, grandson, Christopher Joseph Barker of Crestwood, 2 step-grandsons, Nicholas Vuick of Taylorsville, Michael (Jordan) Vuick of Louisville, 2 great-grandaughters Claire Avery and Corrine Brielle, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, and sister-in-law Sue Arnett.

We want to thank the nurses, CNAs, and staff of Signature Healthcare in Spencer County for their compassion, love and care for Betty for the last 2 ½ years. Especially her two favorite nurses, Brittney and Jaime. Betty always had a smile for everyone she met in the facility.

Family and friends are welcome to visit with the family at Stoess Funeral Home, 6534 W State Hwy 22, Crestwood KY 40014 on Wednesday, April 30th from 2pm-8pm. Her funeral will be held at Stoess Funeral Home at 11am on Thursday, May 1st, with visitation prior to the funeral.
