Betty Carol Harrod Deibel of Crestwood, passed away on Thursday, October 28th at her home. She was born in Shelby County on April 6, 1945 to W. C. and Della Wares Harrod.
Betty was a dedicated wife and mother. She spent many years as a room mother for her daughters’ elementary school classes, box mom for the OCHS marching band, and booster mom for the OCHS cheerleading squad. Betty was an active member of Pewee Valley Presbyterian Church including the Women of the Church, a Sunday school teacher, a Session member, and a member of the “Friday Nighters.” She was a licensed beautician and worked as a sales clerk and assistant buyer for Craig’s Pharmacy and Gifts. Over the years, Betty also enjoyed being part of Oldham County Homemakers and playing in three bridge clubs.
Besides her parents, Betty is preceded in death by a sister, Shelby Jean Harrod; two brothers, Paul and Harlan Harrod; and a sister-in-law Kay Harrod.
Betty is survived by her husband of 55 years, Thomas Deibel; two daughters, Stephanie (Kenny) Willis and Shelbie (David) Sledd; three grandsons, Casey Sledd, Ethan Willis, and Alex Sledd; a brother, Donald Harrod; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 7th from 1:00 to 6:00 at Stoess Funeral Home. The funeral will be held on Monday, November 8th with visitation beginning at 10:00 and the service following at 12:00 at Pewee Valley Presbyterian Church.
