Archie Honaker Obituary

Archie Bryan Honaker, loving husband and father, passed away at home on March 15th, 2026.

Archie was born at home in Stone, Kentucky, on July 9th, 1938. He was the son of a coal miner and had a deep love for the hills of Eastern Kentucky. As a young man he often sought peace and solitude by walking the hills behind his home.

Those who knew Archie will remember his sharp mind and his unmistakable dry sense of humor that could catch you off guard. He didn’t always say a lot, but when he did, it was usually something that would leave folks smiling or shaking their heads with a laugh.

He proudly served in the United States Army Corps of Engineers in Korea.

Following his military service, he built a long and respected career as a civil engineer. Perhaps his most personal accomplishment was designing and building his own home, a testament to his skill as an engineer. He believed strongly in hard work and passed that belief on to his children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ransom and Opal (Williamson) Honaker, and his brother, Dr. Alan Honaker.

Archie is survived by his wife of 60 years Patricia, son Bryan (Jennifer), daughter Teresa Coffman (Tim), and brother Joe Honaker. Six grandchildren, Olivia (John), Isaac, Owen, Mimi, Paige, and John. Great-granddaughter, Adeline and several nieces and nephews.
