Alex Alfers Obituary

Alex Martin Alfers, born in Louisville, Ky on June 2,1998 passed away on January 14th 2025, in Prospect, Ky at the age of 26. Alex loved to travel the world. He studied abroad in St Petersburg Russia and spent time in Sweden, Finland and Estonia. He loved history and enjoyed visiting historical sites. Alex took additional trips to Ukraine and Latvia and participated in an archeological work study in Bulgaria while working on his degree. Alex graduated from the University of Louisville in May of 2024 with a degree in Anthropology. This past summer he drove out to California seeing everything he could along the way. He was currently working at Xscape Theatre and loved his job. Alex lived for his friends and family. He loved people and was the best friend a person could ask for. He loved his friends and family fiercely. He would do anything for anyone. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Alex is preceded in death by his grandparents Leonard and Vivian Wallace, and his mambo Nancy Alfers.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents Marty and Natalie Alfers, his brother Noah Alfers, his sister Kayla (Roddy) Bland, his nephews and niece, Leonard Alfers, Rodney Bland, Roxanna Bland, Jules Bland, Bjorn Bland, his papaw Herman Alfers, and his childhood best friend Dustin, who was like a brother to him, as well as a host of family and friends.

 

The Celebration of Life will be held at Stoess Funeral Home, 6534 West Highway 22 in Crestwood, KY 40014, on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. Visitation will held from 3:00 - 7:00pm with the service to begin at 7pm.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness)
