Alan Curtis Snyder; a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on August 26, 2024 at the age of 75.
Born in Louisville KY on Sept 7, 1948, Alan attended Eastern High School and was an Air Force veteran. He retired from GE as a tool and die maker in 2004 which enabled him to help raise his grandchildren, providing daily childcare and school pickups. Alan enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with family and sharing his love of history. His grandchildren have countless memories of fun adventures with Grandpa and gained more knowledge than most of their heritage. As a quiet, gentle and loving soul, you would often find Alan engaging with children, having a cat or dog in his lap, maybe initiating a little harmless mischief or manning the grill for gatherings. A talented artist and craftsman who will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Dorothea Snyder, and his beloved Aunt Charlotte Finger.
Alan is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Dualda Snyder; daughter Anabela Riley (George); granddaughter Eliza Riley; grandson Geoan Riley; sister Carolyn Hughes (Bill); brother Chris Snyder (Alison) and a long list of in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends from all over the world.
A memorial service will be held at Stoess Funeral home in Crestwood on Saturday September 28th.
Visitation beginning at 1pm with a service at 3pm.
