Rudy Zollner passed on Thursday July 4th, 2019 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY, after an untimely bout with illness.
Rudy was born on the 11th of October 1938, to Peter and Anna Zollner, of Straubing, Bavaria, Germany. Rudy immigrated to the United States of America in 1959, served 2 years in the United States Army, from 1961 to 1963, and became a naturalized citizen in 1964. He was preceeded in death by his first wife, and they had one son Karl Zollner, born in 1969. Rudy started his career as bakery-goods salesman at Bessire & Co. in 1969, when he moved to Louisville, KY. Later he would work for Dawn Foods, Cincinnati Bakery Supply and finally Bake Mark before retiring in 2006. Rudy was remarried in 2006 Wanda Catron Zollner, his beloved wife at the time of his passing. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, brother and a friend to all of his neighbors and coworkers.
Rudy was preceded in death by his former wife, his sister; Rita Daniels, his stepson; Richard Lee Poff Jr., and his parents.
Rudy is survived by his wife, Wanda Zollner, his son, his stepdaughter, Danielle Cole of Axton, VA, and his step-grandchildren Beverly Secrest, and Colin Secrest.
Rudy is also survived by his siblings, Herbert Zollner, his brother, of Richmond, VA and his sisters, Anneliese Oberlander of Kingston, NY and Anni Niedermeier of Munich, Germany and many nieces and nephews.
The family will be receiving his friends from 11 am till the time of the service at 3 pm, Tuesday the 9th of July, with the burial to follow at Floydsburg cemetery, Crestwood, KY. Other times at his home in Crestwood.
