Phoenix Gray Bell-Yates

It is with a heavy heart that the family of the most awesome Phoenix Gray Bell-Yates announces his passing on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 in San Diego, CA at the age of 21.

Phoenix was born in Louisville, KY to Stephen Yates and Brandi Bell.  He grew up in Oldham county, KY.  Phoenix graduated from Oldham County High School in 2015.  He was currently enrolled in San Diego State University working towards becoming a smart and amazing computer coding whiz.  While going to school in San Diego he was a manager at a crazy busy Starbucks.  He also enjoyed his always hungry and cute cat Matzah.  He was true lover of all cats.  In his spare time he loved working on computers and pushing himself to learn new things.  Phoenix was a very simple person who enjoyed skate boarding, the outdoors, baseball, and being with his brothers.  He also loved to spend quality time with his sweet, caring, and beautiful girlfriend, Julia, his second dad Adam, and all of his California friends.   Phoenix will be lovingly remembered by his father, Stephen Yates, stepmother, Beth Workman, and his two brothers, Nolan Yates and Cooper Yates.   He will also be missed by his great grandparents, Mary M. Barber, Springfield, KY and Doris Workman, Buckner, KY; grandparents, Joe (Rita) Yates of Springfield, KY, Ann Cieslik of Louisville, KY, Mac (Connie) Bell of Frankfort, KY, Dan (Linda) Workman of Buckner, KY.  He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and a lot of great friends.  Phoenix was preceded in death by his mother, Brandi Bell of San Diego, CA, and his grandmother, Lynn Lucas Spurrier, of Louisville, KY.
